Leaders from the environmental movement to community organizing to media work dedicate their time and energy to helping design and run sessions on a wide variety of topics.

David Haiman - 2009 National Faculty

 

David Haiman is a principal and co-founder of Movement Matters, a Washington, DC-based consulting group that focuses on developing the capacity of social justice organizations, with a particular focus on the use of community organizing and popular education.  He recently served as the Organizing Coordinator for the DC Employment Justice Center, where he helped to reinvigorate the EJC’s community organizing program.  Read more...

Kweli Kitwana is an accomplished progressive professional with over 30 years of experience in community and political involvement.  Kweli  is currently the Vice President of Political Programs at Progressive Majority, where she manages national recruitment and training program. Kweli specializes in designing and implementing integral community planning charettes in diverse communities across the country.Read more...

 

 

Naomi Long - 2009 National Faculty

 

Naomi Long is director of the Washington, D.C. Metro office, for the Drug Policy Alliance, working primarily as a policy advocate and community organizer in the District of Columbia and Maryland. She is responsible for developing legislative and media strategies for drug policy reform, building advocacy coalitions and providing leadership development for community leaders and groups to advance alternatives to the failed war on drugs.
