Lisa Bahr

University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, Class of 2006

Lisa Bahr graduates from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point this May. Lisa grew up on a farm in rural Wisconsin, where there were only 36 students in her high school graduating class.

After taking Political Science 101 at UWSC, Lisa realized that, unlike her “very conservative” family and hometown, “I am actually very liberal.” She joined the College Democrats, College Greens, and the Gay/Straight Alliance, and currently serves as Speaker of the Senate of the UWSC Student Government Association.

A double major in Political Science and Communications, with a minor in Peace Studies, Lisa believes that “being behind the scenes is just as powerful as being in front of a camera or on a stage,” and would like to do some type of communications and outreach work focusing on women’s rights and/or health care reform.
