Erika Groover

North Carolina A&T University, Class of 2006

Erika Groover is a graduating senior from North Carolina A&T University, an historically black university in Greensboro, North Carolina. Determined to “be a voice to those who never have the opportunity to be heard,” Erika hopes to attend law school and become a child advocacy attorney.

An honors student, Erika is active on her campus and in her sorority. Although Erika has served as a mentor in a campus-based program for middle school girls in Greensboro, she says her own mentors “are celebrities, like Oprah.”

Although her only work experience is in retail, Erika applied to the New Leaders Program because she believes that “there is a leader in everybody.”
