Dennis Nelson

Dickinson College, Class of 2007

As a sophomore in high school, Dennis Nelson was selected to participate in the Tavis Smiley Foundation’s Youth to Leaders program in Philadelphia.

Now a rising senior at Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, Dennis serves on the Youth to Leaders national board, helping to plan leadership development programs and events for African American teens in cities across the country.

A double major in Policy Management and Religion, Dennis is active in varsity athletics (football and track) as well as the Dickinson Christian Fellowship and the Dickinson Volunteer Network. He interned in the New Jersey State House in summer 2004 and in the district office of his local congressman in summer 2005.

Uncertain of his career goals, Dennis is considering pursuing either a law degree or a masters in Theology.
