Emma Roderick

Smith College, Class of 2007

A rising senior at Smith College, Emma Roderick is majoring in Women’s Studies.

Emma has been active in social justice work since the eighth grade and always knew this area would be part of her life; after college she plans to work as a laborer or community organizer.

One summer Emma served as the project coordinator for a recruitment drive at the Citizens Union and recently developed a high school program for United Students Against Sweatshops.  In 2004, Emma received certification for multicultural mediation, a course that teaches mediation taking various social issues into account. 

Emma is most interested in labor organizing, particular high school organizing, and workers’ rights.
