Pennsylvania Political Leaders Springboard Trainings: June 2005
"The training taught me the basics and provided me with useful skills I can use in the future. The connections I have made are better than I hoped for, these connections will greatly help me with my goals." - Mark L., Woxall, PA |
In June, the Center for Progressive Leadership launched the first stage of its Political Leaders Fellowship in Pennsylvania by hosting two pre-training programs on the Eastern and Western sides of the state. A diverse group of over 160 participants attended an intensive, interactive, two-day training taught by leading political strategics from around the region. Participants were taught how to develop the skills and connections necessary to building political leadership and long-term power for themselves and their communities
Through workshops, lectures, and simulations, Springboard Training participants learned how to build political capital, expand their fundraising base, work with the press, build coalitions, and develop and deliver a compelling political message.

Over 300 people from across the state applied for the Springboard Trainings, and the final 160 individuals who participated represent some of the best and brightest leaders from across the commonwealth. With an average age of 36, the group of participants came to the program from different communities, backgrounds, and regions of the state... however, they all came with a common vision of helping to build a powerful and effective progressive movement in Pennsylvania.
