Regional Council: Get Involved Locally

The Center for Progressive Leadership's Regional Councils enable local activists, elected officials, and donors to support and participate in CPL's leadership development programs across the country.

Local progressive leaders can help spread the word about upcoming programs, nominate leaders, and more. Regional Councils contribute to CPL's success by spearheading the following efforts:

1. Regional Events and Fundraising
Regional Councils organize local fundraising events and individual donor outreach. The Councils attract respected political leaders to headline fundraising events and act as advocates for CPL and its leaders.

2. Fellow Selection
Regional Councils actively seek out and nominate local political leaders for CPL's fellowship program and work with local progressive organizations to recruit outstanding leaders. The Regional Councils also provide CPL's Selection Committee with relevant information about local applicants during the fellow selection process.

3. Support for Fellows
Regional Councils engage fellows selected by CPL and work to support the fellows' efforts in regional politics. This support includes coaching and mentoring the fellows in political and leadership skills, hosting local events honoring their accomplishments, linking fellows to local progressive political networks, and helping fellows to attract media recognition for their efforts.

Get Involved in a Regional Council

CPL has launced Regional Councils in 6 states and is continuing to add new locations. CPL's national project leaders help local volunteers initiate and coordinate activities in their region. CPL's national office provides assistance in the form of materials, networking, and candidate resources. In addition, the national team helps to coordinate the activities of regional councils across the country.

If you are interested in joining one of our current Regional Councils please click on the appropriate link listed above for contact information for the Regional Council Coordinator.
