Regional Council: Michigan

Welcome to the Michigan Regional Council. Our team of volunteer activists is working to building a strong foundation to launch CPL's second set of target programs for emerging progressive activists, political leaders and elected officials.

In 2005 we are working with People for the American Way to help support their Young People For program for student activists at 5 Michigan campuses. We are working with our network of activists in Michigan to provide mentoring for these emerging leaders and to help them create trainings on their campuses to teach hundreds of other students how to advocate around progressive issues in their school and community.

Later in 2005 we will launch our State Progressive Political Leaders to provide seasoned activists, employees of political organizations and future candidates with the skills they need to acheive a new level of success.

We need your help supporting our programs in Michigan!

  • Sign up to serve as a mentor to one of the Young People For students. Mentors will work closely with these motivated, savvy young people to help them design and implement training events and progressive action plans on their campus.

  • Help us develop the financial resources necessary to support our programs in Michigan, and help us recruit up-and-coming progressive leaders to participate in our State Political Leaders Fellowship. CPL is especially focused on attracting emerging minority, female and youth leaders.
