CPL's leadership programs are only the tip of the iceberg. There are a number of opportunities for progressives to participate in other programs that specialize in certain areas of political leadership and expand on the work that CPL does. Wellstone Action (www.wellstone.org) is a national center for training and leadership development for the progressive movement. Founded in January 2003, Wellstone Action’s mission is to honor the legacy of Paul and Sheila Wellstone by continuing their work through training, educating, mobilizing and organizing a vast network of progressive individuals and organizations.

Founded in 1973 the Midwest Academy (www.midwestacademy.com) is a national training institute committed to advancing the struggle for social, economic, and racial justice. From local neighborhood groups to statewide and national organizations, Midwest Academy has trained over twenty-five thousand grassroots activists from hundreds of orginzations and coalitions. Midwest Academy teaches an organizing philosophy, methods and skills that enable ordinary people to activily participate in the democratic process. Courses and consulting services are designed for proggressive organizations and coalitions that utilize civic engament activities to build citizen power at all levels of our democracy.

The United States Student Association (www.usstudents.org) is the country's oldest and largest national student organization, representing millions of students. Founded in 1947, USSA is the recognized voice for students on Capitol Hill, in the White House, and in the Department of Education.
USSA trains and organizes students to win concrete victories on their campuses -- like stopping fee hikes, expanding retention and recruitment programs for underrepresented students and improving campus safety. By mobilizing and uniting a powerful grass roots force of students all over the country, we build our power and win concrete victories. Educated, organized and united, USSA leads the fight to make education a right, not a privilege.

The Center for Community Change (www.communitychange.org), founded in 1968, grew out of a powerful combination of ideas and events in the 1960s. Many important partners, including the Robert F. Kennedy Memorial Fund, the Ford Foundation, and leaders of the United Auto Workers, made the Center for Community Change a reality.

PolitiCorps strives to create the next generation of progressive leaders. The Summer Institute is based in Portland, Oregon.
