The Center for Progressive Leadership is building local, state-based leadership institutes across the country to develop diverse progressive leaders that advance progressive change. Through long-term investments in targeted recruitment, training, and mentorship, CPL is building the foundation for change with thousands of new future candidates, political staff, and organizers taking leadership roles in their communities.

 

CPL works in regions and communities across the country that have a potential for a surge in progressive leadership; we currently have offices in Pennsylvania, Arizona, Michigan, Colorado and Washington, D.C.

 

From high school and college students to community organizers, nonprofit leaders, and future candidates, CPL's local strategy builds from the ground up in order to recruit, identify and train the most promising leaders in the country.

 

In 2008 and beyond, CPL will continue to explore the potential for adding new permanent states offices each year.

In addition to running its own progressive training and leadership development programs, CPL partners with other progressive organizations to train a broader spectrum of progressive activists and promote their connection with the larger progressive movement.
