Profession: MD Fellow, Infectious Diseases at the University of Arizona

Fellowship Track:  Future Candidate

Motivation: As an Internal Medicine physician, I am keen aware of the abysmal state of health care in our country, which is intimately related to poverty and the lack of insurance options for the working poor.  A keen desire to advocate for the needy and disenfranchised on multiple levels is my primary motivation.

Volunteer Highlights: Co-Chair Southern Arizona Stonewall Democrats; University of Arizona Faculty Advisor, College of Medicine; Gay-Straight Medical Student Alliance; Past Pima County Democratic Precinct Committeeperson

Leadership Interests: As a physician interested in public health, I believe that my expertise would serve greatly in the Arizona State House or Senate.  I hope to gain skills and knowledge that will help me articulate my beliefs and convictions in a way that will effect change in healthcare, education and community development.

CPL-AZ Mentor: State Representative Phil Lopes; Minority Leader in the Arizona Legislature and a Professor at University of Arizona
