Jason Barraza - Arizona Outreach Director Jason Barraza joined the Center for Progressive Leadership (CPL) as the Outreach Director for the Arizona office in May 2007. In this role, Jason is responsible for building relationships with progressive organizations and individuals, identifying and recruiting emerging progressive leaders from around the state for leadership development training, and acting as a liaison between past and present CPL Fellows. Prior to joining the Center for Progressive Leadership, Jason worked in the political arena and field organizing. He was the Election Integrity Director for the Arizona Democratic Party during the 2006 election cycle and worked for the DuVal for Congress Campaign and the Arizona Democratic Party’s GOTV program in 2002. Additionally, Jason worked for the Democratic National Convention Committee in planning and organizing the Democratic National Convention in 2000 and 2004. Jason also worked within the Public Benefits Clinic of Southern Arizona Legal Aid (SALA), the U of A’s Child Advocacy Legal Clinic (CALC), and offered time with the Volunteer Lawyers Project in Southern Arizona. A native Phoenician, Jason holds a Bachelor of Arts in Biological Sciences and dual minors in History and Biological Technology from the University of Southern California. Jason also holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Arizona, James E. Rogers College of Law.
