Pennsylvania New Leaders Program
For recent graduates and young people seeking full time work

CPL Pennsylvania's New Leaders Program identifies and recruits talented, diverse youth and links them to paid positions at leading progressive organizations from June to November. CPL also provides intensive leadership and skills training, as well as mentorship and networking opportunities over the course of the program.

The program focuses on changing the face of tomorrow’s political leadership by recruiting young leaders from underrepresented communities, including but not limited to people of color, GBLT youth, and women.

Partners

CPL Pennsylvania New Leaders work at a variety of progressive organizations. Past placements have included:

  • League of Education Voters
  • Councilman Curtis Jones
  • Congresswoman Allyson Schwartz
  • Councilwoman Blondell Reynolds Brown

Trainings
CPL New Leaders participate in coaching and training sessions over the course of the 5 months. The program covers a broad set of topics, including communications & messaging, fundraising, high-impact leadership, progressive vision & values, campaign planning and grassroots organizing.

CPL’s New Leaders trainings are very interactive and rely heavily on the knowledge and experience of our CPL New Leaders, as well as CPL staff and guest trainers.
